The Youth Ambassadors Summer Program

The Loeb Institute for Religious Freedom at the George Washington University is delighted to offer current students at the undergraduate level the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in our inaugural International Religious Freedom Youth Ambassadors Program. Participants will engage in study of the history and philosophy of religious freedom, meet with policymakers and activists from around the world, and attend sessions of the International Religious Freedom Ministerial sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. 

The Youth Ambassadors Program will be held concurrently with the International Religious Freedom Ministerial from July 15-19, 2019. The opportunity is all expenses paid, including travel, housing, and meals. Participants will stay on George Washington University’s Mount Vernon Campus, in the scenic Palisades neighborhood.

Requirements:

• Participants MUST either have a valid US student visa or be a citizen of one of the countries in

the Visa Waiver Program. We *cannot* sponsor applications for student visas.

• Be enrolled at least one semester in a recognized academic degree program.

• The program will be conducted in English. Participants MUST demonstrate written and verbal fluency.

In addition to the application form, request a 300-400 word letter of recommendation from a college instructor, religious leader, employer or other person who knows you well and can address your qualifications for

the program. The letter should be sent by email to [email protected] with your name in the subject line.

 

Note:

Currently enrolled students who are graduating this year are eligible to apply. 

 
Applications that are not followed by a letter of recommendation will not be considered.
